About

On August 7, 1974, a young Frenchman named Philippe Petit stepped out on a wire illegally rigged between the World Trade Centre’s twin towers in New York. After dancing for nearly an hour on the wire, he was arrested, taken for psychological evaluation, and brought to jail before he was finally released. This documentary incorporates Petit’s footage to show the numerous extraordinary challenges he faced in completing the artist crime of the century.

BBC, UK Film Council and Discovery Films present a Red Box Films and Wall to Wall production.

''They say that seeing is believing, but Man on Wire will make you doubt what your eyes are telling you -- it really will -- as you shake your head in amazement and awe''
